Occasion Cakes for Brisbane & Logan
Not every cake is for a birthday. Christenings, baby showers, engagements, anniversaries, retirements, farewells, graduations, office milestones — most of them arrive with less notice than a wedding and more meaning than a Friday afternoon treat. We have been making them at Springwood for 42 years.
Christening and naming day cakes
Usually simple, usually pale, usually photographed a great deal. A plain cake with a well-made chocolate plaque often looks better than something more elaborate. We hand-pipe custom chocolate plaques with any message you like.
Baby shower cakes
These tend to want colour and a bit of theatre. A rainbow cake does the job without needing a themed design, and a chilled cheesecake holds up better than sponge if the shower runs long on a warm afternoon.
Engagement cakes

Anniversary cakes
An acrylic Happy Anniversary topper on a Black Forest gateau or a tiramisu gateau reads as grown-up in a way a decorated sponge does not. Our gateaux are the range to look at.
Corporate and office cakes
Farewells, work anniversaries, hitting a target, a client visit. If you need to feed a room rather than a table, a whole cheesecake cut small goes further than a decorated cake, and a mix of savoury items alongside it stops the afternoon becoming purely sugar. Fundraisers, sporting clubs and schools
We are a Springwood business and a fair bit of what we bake ends up at local clubs and school events. If you are organising something for a group in Logan or the Brisbane southside, get in touch and tell us what you are trying to do.
Catering for dietary needs

Can you put a specific message on the cake?
Yes — we hand-pipe chocolate plaques to order, in milk or white chocolate.
Do I need a custom cake, or will a stock cake do?
For most occasions a stock cake plus the right topper or plaque is the better value and looks just as good in photographs. Go custom when the shape, theme or colour genuinely matters.
What if I need to feed a large group?
Call or email us with the numbers and we will tell you what makes sense rather than guessing.

Ordering and collection. Custom cakes need at least 5 working days notice; wedding cakes at least two weeks, and more over Christmas. We take a deposit to secure your date, with the balance paid before the cake goes into production. We are collection only from our Springwood store, and you choose your pickup date and time at the checkout. Full detail is in our guide on how far in advance to order.
